Position: Software Engineer (Draper UT)

Tynt is an exciting startup company producing industry-leading software in the field of web analytics. We offer a fun, fast paced agile development environment where engineers can enjoy their work and take pride in the results. We are seeking enthusiastic and talented software developers to join our small team in the Salt Lake office.

Our firm already monitors 20 billion web events per month and we continue to grow. This is a vast quantity of data to be processed and analyzed and we use leading edge tools to do it. This includes Apache Hadoop and HBase systems – the most widely used of the new “Big Data” technologies. As a developer who loves writing quality software, you will enjoy the challenge of processing thousands of transactions per second, discovering new nuggets of gold in the data and doing it in an environment that exceeds 99.99% uptime over the course of year. We utilize an agile development process and value teamwork and intelligence over pre-existing skills. This position is perfect for someone looking to learn to work with the hottest new tools and needing a change from humdrum development positions.

Job Responsibilities:

• Work closely with other members of the team to rapidly develop and deliver great products.
• Participate in the evolution of our development process and architecture.
• Spend time researching and developing innovative ideas for enhancing and expanding our products.

To be considered for this role, you must have…

• A bachelor or masters degree in computer science, information systems, or equivalent degrees and experience.
• Demonstrated an ability to produce high quality software backed with appropriate automated tests.
• Above average communication skills and an appreciation of teamwork.
• The ability to both challenge and encourage in a positive manner, are comfortable working in an agile environment and deal well with ambiguity.

We are interested in meeting candidates who have the following skills & experience

• Experience developing Java software with automated testing.
• Experience with Linux and Tomcat servers is an asset.
• Ruby experience is an asset.
• Experience working with scalable, high availability web based systems is an asset.
• Knowledge of Hadoop, HBase or MapReduce algorithms is a definite asset.
